What a great topic, and for me, so timely too. I have been taking steps to deepen my spiritual life, which is to say, my whole life, and the topic of processing my fear so I can listen more deeply and take more interpersonal risks has been at the forefront lately. These thoughts today are an encouragement to me to continue in this direction. Opening up to others is very hard for me, but I know it can get easier as I continue to practice. So thank you!
Brilliant stuff DC. I love the way you distil things to their essence. I might have to start calling you Daryl the Distiller!
This strikes a chord with me too.
Dare to take risks in order to deepen relationships with other people.
I also think the article captures the complexity of fostering deeper conversations in couples therapy.
Thanks Daryl!

Bengt, more on how this applies to therapy in Frontiers Substack coming soon!

Allison, I was thinking about your comment the last few days... I'm thinking about what led you to this space in your life right now...
I hope to cover on the topic on spirituality, religion, and relational risks in the near future.
That would be great! I'll keep my eye out for your posts Daryl, thanks!
This essay touched me deeply - what a beautiful gift! It is one of those gifts you want to keep re-gifting and sending it to others.
